Made with assistance from the European Space Agency (ESA), the Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer anticipates humankind’s next giant leap. Cased in grade 2 titanium, OMEGA’s unique 45 mm chronograph tracks time on Earth and the mysterious red planet. A logical trajectory for the makers of the first watch on the moon.

OMEGA’s Marstimer offers a range of valuable functions for those working in the field of space research. When the dial displays the planet’s symbol above the letters MTC, the watch is in Mars setting. Able to track Mars’ sol date and time at the prime meridian: allowing for the fact that a day on Mars is 39 minutes longer than on Earth. The timepiece also features an innovative solar compass, to find true north on Earth and Mars.
Circling the dial of the Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer is an oxalic anodized aluminium bezel ring in red hematite, reminiscent of Mars’ distinctive dust. This striking shade also highlights the watch’s special top left pusher, which allows the wearer to select favourite settings. There’s even a touch of Mars red on the gradient seconds hand, which transitions from black to red hematite.
In keeping with OMEGA’s take on professional watches, the Marstimer performs its tasks in style. The X33’s classic black dial with electroluminescent backlight provides a contrasting backdrop for the multiple analogue and digital readings. A highly legible liquid crystal display (LCD) made even clearer by Earth and Mars symbols to distinguish which particular functions are in use. The bezel also glows in low light, thanks to the use of Super-LumiNova.
Turning the watch over reveals a caseback embossed in the centre with OMEGA’s famous Speedmaster wording and Seahorse logo. Circled by the words SPEEDMASTER X-33 MARSTIMER, ESA TESTED AND QUALIFIED.
