The Seamaster Planet Ocean has paid homage to OMEGA’s ocean heritage since 2005. Today, the collection stands at the forefront of watchmaking excellence with Master Chronometer certification, innovative design and the most state-of-the-art materials.

MATERIALS THAT MATTER

The cases of the 39.5mm and 43.5mm models, as well as the 45.5mm chronographs, are made from stainless steel or 18K Sedna™ gold. Most impressively, the dials and bezels have been created from ceramic, a sleek effect that is enhanced by Liquidmetal™ or Ceragold™ numbers and scaling.

BRIGHT LIGHTS

The applied indexes are coated with white Super-LumiNova that emits a blue light, while the minute hand and dot on the diving bezel glow green. This helps divers easily keep track of their time underwater.

RUBBER STRAPS AND BEZELS

In some Planet Ocean models, rubber has been blended with ceramic to create the first 15 minutes of the vibrant diving bezel. Some straps are also made from rubber with an anti-bacterial treatment. Even on the water-resistant leather straps, rubber has been included on the underside for comfort and functionality.

CERAMIC MODELS

Continuing OMEGA's renowned standards in modern craftsmanship, some Planet Ocean models are offered with black or brown ceramic cases. Combined with other superb materials, such as 18K Sedna™ gold or diamonds, these sleek timepieces offer the very best in contemporary design.

THE MASTER CHRONOMETER STANDARD

The Master Chronometer calibres that drive these watches (9900 / 9901, 8906, 8800 / 8801, 8900 / 8901) are at the pinnacle of watchmaking precision and performance. Each watch has passed the 8 rigorous tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), proving its excellence even in magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss.
