Counting Down to Milano Cortina 2026

The countdown has begun. From February 6th, 2026, the world’s best athletes will be competing at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. In its role as Official Timekeeper, OMEGA has officially started the one-year countdown to the competition by unveiling a countdown clock in the host city, Milano.

Especially for the occasion, the brand installed its stunning new Countdown Clock at the Piazza del Duomo. Positioned next to Milano’s iconic cathedral, the clock has been tailor-made to resemble a giant snow globe, with a special airflow system that creates a continuous artificial snowfall effect around the competition logo. On the outside, two digital displays keep track of the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games on February 6th, 2026, as well as the Paralympic Winter Games, beginning on March 6th.

“We can already feel the anticipation and excitement building. We know the athletes will have their dreams set on this huge upcoming event.”

Raynald Aeschlimann

To set the countdown in motion at a special unveiling ceremony, Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, was joined by Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee; Alain Zobrist, CEO of OMEGA Timing; and Giovanni Malagò, President of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation.
