From its inception, this Seamaster stood out for its exceptional underwater design. The screw‑in crown, positioned at 9 o'clock, was protected by a locking nut to free the divers' wrists and prevent accidental manipulation, while the rotating bezel is operated via the signature orange button at 2 o'clock. In addition, an automatic helium escape valve is on the side of the case at the 4 o’clock position and allows helium atoms to escape during decompression.

More than 50 years after its first release, the vintage Ploprof design is still as popular amongst collectors and watch fans as ever, with a modern range of luxury Swiss timepieces updated with new materials, designs, technologies and water‑resistance.
