Breadcrumb
Soaring between earth and space, OMEGA watches have enjoyed a long history in the skies. Now, to propel that legacy further, the brand proudly launches the new Speedmaster Pilot. Aimed at a new generation of pilots in flight, this 40.85 mm design follows the very same symmetrical style of the original Speedmaster from 1957.
Speedmaster Pilot
40.85 mm, steel on steel
$9,500
Perhaps most eye-catching of all are the twin subdials that appear on the watch’s main dial. Both indications are opaline at the centre and bevelled on the outside. The overall design is inspired by the look of aircraft cockpits and is matched by a central chronograph hand that features a varnished orange airplane tip.
Target/Sight Subdial
At 9H, the Small Seconds display, with its “target/sight” aesthetic inspired by cockpits, features a varnished matte-yellow hand and artificial horizon in blue.
Burn Rate Subdial
At 3H, the 60-minute and 12-hour recorder is inspired by the “burn rate” indication in aircraft cockpits, with a triangular matte-orange hand and transferred white numerals.
Matte Effects
To remain anti-reflective under the sun, the watch includes many anti-reflective surfaces, including the symmetrical brushed stainless steel case and the grained matte-black, cockpit-inspired dial.
Full Luminosity
The hour/minute hands and hour markers are all presented with large blocks of white Super-LumiNova (green emission), providing full visibility during dark night flights.
This self-winding chronograph features a column wheel and Co-Axial escapement. As a certified Master Chronometer, it is approved by METAS, and resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. Features include a silicon balance-spring, 2 barrels mounted in series, and time zone function. There is a central hour, minute and chronograph seconds hands, small seconds hand, 12-hour and 60-minute recorder. The finish is rhodium plated with Geneva waves in arabesque.
“The caseback is engraved with a Seahorse medallion and 100m / 330ft.”
The watch is delivered inside a special grey travel pouch, allowing you to take the timepiece with you on any journey. Inside, it includes a strap changing tool, and an additional grey NATO strap that is reinforced with KEVLAR® threads. An easy way to switch between your preferred look.
