This timepiece is a modern reinterpretation of the original CK2998 released in 1959 that was worn by astronaut Wally Schirra during the Mercury Sigma 7 mission. The OMEGA CK 2998 has since become one of the most iconic Speedmasters in the world.
The CK2998 Limited Edition is fitted with the same “alpha” hands — for both the minute and hour hands — found on the original CK2998. Along with a stainless steel case, there is a sand‑blasted silvery dial with a black minute track and a varnished red chronograph seconds hand, as well as blackened indexes that are all coated in Super‑LumiNova.
This vintage inspire wristwatch includes a black ceramic bezel with a white enamel pulsometer scale and is presented on a black micro‑perforated leather strap with a white rubber interior. This dress watch is powered by OMEGA’s iconic Caliber 1861, a manual‑winding movement that is a descendent of the legendary Calibre 321 that went to the moon. The solid caseback is engraved with OMEGA’s iconic seahorse.
Produced in a limited series of 2,998 pieces and presented with a special box, this luxury Swiss timepiece has been designed to capture the clarity, simplicity, and sense of aesthetics found in vintage Speedmasters.
