Historic Inspiration

Launched in 1957, the original Speedmaster changed the face of chronograph watchmaking forever. Inspired by that very first CK2915-1 model, today’s new release includes classic tributes, such as the broad arrow hands, and three classic subdials including a small seconds display, 30-minute recorder and 12-hour recorder, and the central chronograph function.

Creating an icon

  • The Case

    Using the exclusive white gold alloy known as 18K Canopus Gold™, OMEGA has machined the 38.6 mm case to create a watch with high brilliance, whiteness and longevity.

  • The Dial

    A vintage OMEGA logo, including a historical oval “O”, has been applied to the black onyx dial, which also features 18K white gold hands and indexes with a Canopus Gold™ PVD treatment.

  • The Bezel

    The famous tachymeter scale on the bezel has been filled with black Grand Feu enamel. If you look closely, you'll also see the famous dot over ninety (DON) and a dot diagonal to seventy.

  • The Caseback

    An engraving of the OMEGA Seahorse has been added to the inside of the caseback’s sapphire crystal glass. A blue sapphire eye is included to mark the collection’s 65th anniversary.

  • The bracelet

    Fixing OMEGA’s 321-powered Speedmaster to the wrist is an 18K Canopus Gold™ bracelet with a comfort release adjustment system, designed to ensure a secure fit for any wrist size.

The legendary Calibre 321 was the first movement ever used inside the Speedmaster and was famously included in every timepiece worn on the moon. More than 50 years after its final appearance, OMEGA brought this Apollo-era calibre back into production, completely reborn to its authentic and original specifications.
