For the athletes competing at Rio 2016, an Olympic Games gold medal is the ultimate dream. With this theme in mind, OMEGA House in Rio was transformed on Sunday evening for a “Gold Night” celebration with special guest Alessandra Ambrosio.
Alessandra is world-renowned as a Brazilian model and actress. Admired for her talent and beauty, she is also passionate about her home country and the arrival of the Olympic Games in Rio where OMEGA is fulfilling its role as Official Timekeeper for the 27th time since 1932.
As a fan of OMEGA, Alessandra celebrated the theme of the evening by wearing a 43mm 18k red gold Seamaster Aqua Terra with a grey dial. Her appearance certainly drew a crowd of Rio’s most young and dynamic socialites.
Speaking at the event, she said, “It’s such an honour to have the Olympic Games here in Rio, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It’s a dream come true for South America, not just Brazil. And to be able to run with the torch and represent my country too! I had my whole family here with me to be able to share in the moment.”
She was also enamoured by OMEGA House. “Casa de Cultura is an amazing place and OMEGA did such an incredible job of the restoration in keeping it authentic. Right now for the Olympic Games, it’s an amazing place to come and to hang out and sit in front of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world – Ipanema.”
Alongside Alessandra was President and CEO of OMEGA, Raynald Aeschlimann, who was glad to see so many people enjoying the “Gold Night” event. “Gold is the colour of accomplishment and excellence and I believe those are some of the key attributes that OMEGA and the Olympic Games share. OMEGA House is a great example of our high standards and I love the energy that our guests have brought here.”
Some of OMEGA’s finest gold watches were on display around OMEGA House at the “Gold Night” event. They could be seen within the elegantly created setting that featured large golden spheres, a black carpet with gold dust and a gold-themed menu.
OMEGA House is the brand’s exclusive members-only club throughout the Olympic Games. Located inside Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim on Ipanema Beach, each event brings with it a unique flavour and flair. The rooms are specially themed around the brand with other main areas of socialising and watching the Olympic Games sporting events.
