Spirits were high when OMEGA ambassador Rory McIlroy took on emerging Swiss golfers at the Jungfraujoch "Top of Europe"
Despite being a few thousand metres above his comfort zone, the four times Major winner took the specially-prepared glacial golf course in his stride and was a true inspiration for the young Swiss players.
After a knock-out round earlier in the day involving 18 youth players from golf clubs in Bern, Wylihof, Limpachtal, Neuchâtel, St Apollinaire and Interlaken-Unterseen, the top three U16 golfers joined forces to take down the seasoned pro in an 18 ball chip-shot duel.
For the spectacular "Beat the Pro" challenge the Jungfraujoch was given a temporary golf-course makeover with viewing area, tee-off ground and special 9-hole golf wall.
Impressed with the skills and attitudes of the Swiss rookies, who were the victors on the day, Rory McIlroy presented each young player with a putter. It was clear to all present that the future of Swiss golf was in good hands.
