Since October 2015, OMEGA has once again established itself as one of the most inventive brand in the world of watchmaking by offering a new quality standard for chronometer watches: the Master Chronometer certification. This certification was initiated by OMEGA with the aim of ensuring that these iconic watches reach a level of precision and resistance never achieved before.
The Master Chronometer certification, issued by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), requires a new battery of tests, including the watches resistance to magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss. A total of 8 tests over 10 days are imposed on the watches in order to check their resistance to water or their resistance to different temperatures. The precision criterion defined at the end of these tests is a variation of 0 to 5 seconds per day.
Since the first OMEGA Globemaster watch was certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS, many others have also received this certification. Discover in this selection OMEGA's iconic models, fruit of the highest Swiss watchmaking expertise.
