The ETNZ crew launch their cutting-edge boat wearing cool blue Planet Ocean chronographs

Every America’s Cup sailor knows that the battle for the “Auld Mug” begins in the drawing room. Designers play a decisive role in a crew’s victory and the brains behind the boat were the stars of the show at the Christening of the Kiwi vessel in Auckland. The big reveal generated huge applause, especially from members of the crew, who were on hand to salute the boat’s creators, each wearing an ocean-inspired design of a different kind.

OMEGA’s Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M, worn by ETNZ, is a Master Chronometer certified chronograph. The 45.5 mm stainless steel watch features a blue ceramic dial with Arabic numerals, a date window at 6 o’clock and two sub dials: one with small seconds, another with 60-minute and 12-hour counters for intuitive reading of elapsed time. Circling the dial is a blue ceramic unidirectional rotating divers’ bezel, with Liquidmetal™ diving scale.
