Handcrafted by a select group of horologists at OMEGA’s Atelier Tourbillon in Switzerland, this Numbered Edition timepiece combines a true example of watchmaking art with the brand’s most advanced and beautiful alloys.

The brushed 43 mm case is made from 18K Canopus Gold™ with a polished bezel, lugs, and caseback, along with a sun-brushed 18K Sedna™ Gold dial that includes a logo and wording in dark grey. The dial is further split between a fluted central ring made from 18K Canopus Gold™ and the outer sections with 18K white gold hour/minute hands and indexes that have all been given a Canopus Gold™ PVD coating.

To enhance the effect, the tourbillon titanium bridge with hand-polished bevelling is set with a diamond-polished 18K Canopus Gold™ seconds hand. On the back, an 18K Sedna™ Gold, PVD-blackened hand indicates the Power Reserve of the watch. The crown, also in polished 18K Canopus Gold™, features a Ω set in 18K Sedna™ Gold.

Presented on a brown leather strap with a polished 18K Canopus Gold™ buckle, the watch includes a sapphire crystal caseback that allows a view of the 18K Sedna™ Gold movement: OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 2640. Each Tourbillon is delivered in special box with a certificate of authenticity, a travel pouch and a watch crown winder.

Canopus Gold^TM

OMEGA has been using the exclusive Canopus Gold^TM, an 18K white gold alloy, since 2015. As well as being 100% noble, it bears all the standard characteristics of other 18K golds, while also distinguishing itself for its high brilliance, whiteness and longevity, making it an ideal material for high-end or diamond set timepieces.
The alloy is named after the bright star Canopus, which is 71 times bigger and 10’000 times brighter than our sun. Due to its brilliance and position, Canopus became an important reference point for many space agencies.
Its unique composition includes platinum, rhodium and palladium for colour and stability.

Sapphire Crystal

To really appreciate the finer details of a timepiece, OMEGA uses synthetic sapphire crystal with a highly scratch-resistant and anti-reflective treatment. Before the machining and finishing processes take place, the sapphire crystals are produced under the Verneuil process, also called flame fusion. It involves the melting of the raw substance using oxyhydrogen flame and the crystallisation of the melted droplets to form a cylinder. Graded 9 on the Mohs-hardness scale (graded 1-10), the resulting sapphire crystals are virtually scratch-proof and very hard, ensuring an unhindered vision at all times.

Twice as precise as any officially certified chronometer

Our Master Chronometer watches are tested and certified twice. First, the movement is Chronometer-certified according to international standard ISO3159, requiring a precision of -4/+6 second per day, following the tests at the Official Swiss Chronometer Control (COSC). Then, the watch head and its movement undergo eight Master Chronometer tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) with criteria of 0/+5 seconds per day.

Proprietary anti-magnetic materials

Everyday items such as mobile phones, metal clasps on handbags, laptops, MRI, induction hobs or automatic doors; subject a watch to magnetic fields and can affect its performance. To prevent the risk of permanent deviations of up to several minutes a day we've conceived movements with antimagnetic materials, such as the silicon balance spring, capable of withstanding the highest fields.

Less servicing

Expect fewer visits to the service centre. The Co-Axial escapement is designed to reduce friction inside the movement. As a result, less lubrication is needed and hence less servicing. Compared to non-Co-Axial watches, the intervals between getting your watch serviced will be much longer.

Shock-resistance

During the homologation process, OMEGA watches are tested to the extreme. This phase includes shock examinations, to confirm reliability and to check that its precision is maintained after a severe impact. All OMEGA timepieces are designed to withstand shocks corresponding to a 1-metre drop on a hard wooden floor. For a standard 150g timepiece, this sudden and rapid acceleration is an equivalent force of up to 5,000 G on the watch head.

OMEGA’s first manual-winding central tourbillon movement, with Co Axial escapement, black ceramised titanium tourbillon cage and base, hand polished bevels on cage, bridges and mechanisms, 18K Sedna™ gold bridges and main plate. Titanium tourbillon cage rotates completely once every minute. 3 days power reserve indicator. Magnetic resistance of 15,000 gauss allows the timepiece to be certified at the industry’s highest level.
